I Want To Teach You Magic
I want to teach you magic - not slight-of-hand - but a way
to harness your imagination so that you can make specific and conscious choices
in order to transform your life. I would describe magic as
making room for possibility; and it can be simple and practical and real. I use magic in my everyday life to empower me
to make explicit decisions so that I can manifest concrete changes. It’s all about placing the power of change
squarely in my own hands and accepting that I do have control over my own life.
I’m not some mysterious guru, I’m just a woman who’s had
some supernatural experiences that cannot be defined in scientific terms. Whether they were “real” beyond all
reasonable doubt cannot be proved, but they had an effect on me that provided an
authentic “truth” I feel called to share.
I’m certainly not Hermione Granger with her wand. I’m not able to turn anyone into a toad. I don’t need to give some person who’s a
blight in my life green mucus covered skin anyway. What I need is a way to remove myself from
that person’s influence. I can’t summon
up a Jinn and make this creature shower me in gold. That would be rather difficult to buy
groceries with anyway. What I need is a
way to organize my finances to reduce waste and make room for growth. I know I still have quite a bit of growing to
do, but I’d like to share with you how I identified and banished things that
drained my ability to believe in myself.
I want to tell you about how I wished away my financial ruin and paved
my own way to sustainability. And I want
to tell you about the hardest choices I have had to make, one of which, was
choosing between death, and life itself.
I’m not going to withhold information from you “until you’re
ready” or have reached some esoteric level-up;
and I’m certainly not going to tell you that something is “too dangerous!” to
be taught or spoken of. Grocery shopping
can be dangerous. Walking down the
street is dangerous. Everything in life
(and particularly those things we want most) comes with some element of
risk. Imagination is dangerous. So yes, magic is dangerous. But we can either silence the creator within
and bury ourselves in a hole or we can take a risk and be an architect of our
own lives.
